Dr. Sarah Petrich`s first interest in movement and the human body was through dance. She`s been dancing for over 30 years and taught dance for over 10 years. Her fascination with movement and biomechanics propelled her to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science, as well as a Masters and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from St Catherine University.

Sarah is a specialist in correcting spinal alignment through exercise and balancing faulty muscular patterns combining both Postural Restoration® techniques and Pilates to get the desired results. She moves beyond just attaining a "neutral" alignment ensuring her clients can also move, exercise, and play using efficient muscular patterns resulting in a dynamic neutrality. Sarah is also unique in her ability to use breath techniques combined with core activation to restore relaxation to typically tight and restricted neck and low back muscles.

Sarah is a Postural Restoration® Certified (PRC) therapist, a National Certified Pilates Teacher and a Polestar Rehabilitation Pilates Practitioner. She has been teaching Pilates for over 10 years at Studio U just outside of Minneapolis, where she combines her specialties to decrease pain in her clients and help them gain mobility, strength and power. Sarah is also a proud member of the Foundation for Airway Health, an organization that advocates for airway-health related disorders.
Sarah continues to be active in dance through dance medicine. She was a founding member of the Minnesota Dance Medicine Foundation (MDMF) where she volunteered manage their free clinic and to treat under-insured dancers at their non-profit clinic and promotes dance health through research and community education for over 10 years. She still can be seen acting as an "emergency" physical therapist for touring dance companies and dancers to Minnesota.

Dr. Sarah Petrich is a national educator teaching healthcare professionals, Pilates instructors, & movement professionals. As former affiliate faculty of the Postural Restoration Institute®, Dr. Sarah & Donna Parise-Byrne, PT co-founded Re-Balance Pilates in 2022. Re-balance Pilates is a continuing education program that applies Postural Restoration Institute® concepts to Pilates equipment repertoire. She is also an educator with Summit Education and teaches a 1-day course Functional Core Stability. She's also been a guest speaker at Pilates on Tour and Pilates Method Alliance Conferences.
Locally, she has presented on various topics for the Minnesota Dance Medicine Foundation, University of Minnesota, Minnesota Dance Teacher's Workshop, Postural Restoration Institute, Fairview's MN Sports Medicine Conference, TRIA Orthopaedics, and local dance schools.
